In what ways do you gain understanding from God? Here you will find 5 ways that I consistently use to seek understanding for my answered prayers.
1 Read the Bible
During times when we feel unsure we have to remember that God is always waiting for us. To feel closer to our Father in heaven we can look for scriptures to read to reassure us that God is always with us and doing what is best.
”This book of the law shall not depart out of thy mouth; but thou shalt meditate therein day and night, that thou mayest observe to do according to all that is written therein: for then thou shalt make thy way prosperous, and then thou shalt have good success.“
Joshua 1:8 KJV
2 Keep your faith, praise him for what he is about to do
When I feel overwhelmed by my blessings. I have to constantly remind myself to trust not only God but his plan. Listening to gospel music helps redirect my spirit and thoughts.
”Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen.“
Hebrews 11:1 KJV
3. Seek forgiveness
When seeking understanding, Is your heart in good standing with God? What I mean is have you repented for any sins that you have or are committing? Usually for me holding my tongue is a daily struggle and I sometimes feel justified in what I’ve said that it takes longer for me to seek forgiveness. We shouldn’t wait but seek God immediately and ask for forgiveness. Don’t postpone your blessing because you are being prideful.
”For if ye forgive men their trespasses, your heavenly Father will also forgive you:“
Matthew 6:14 KJV
4. Seek advice from a trusted friend
Do you have a trusted friend or mentor who holds you accountable during your walk with God? If not speak to your pastor or someone within the church you feel comfortable speaking with. Seeking advice from someone outside of our thoughts can be beneficial because we can vent, and pray without feeling judged.
”For where two or three are gathered together in my name, there am I in the midst of them.“
Matthew 18:20 KJV
Return to your prayer and ask God to give you clarity wherever it is unclear in your answered prayer. Keeping communication with him is usually how we get to our current stance and how we can continue to grow and persevere during our journey here on Earth before we get to heaven.
”Pray without ceasing.“
1 Thessalonians 5:17 KJV
