Overwhelmed by your blessing? Stay cheerful with these 9 bible verses

Do you ever find yourself comparing your life to others in your family, friends, or people that you don’t know. These days most people are scrolling through social media seeking comfort from their own daily lives. I confess I tend to do this but I always come back to the thought that not everyone gets the same blessings. When we compare our lives to others through social media, we have to realize that people only show their high points on these platforms. This may be comforting at those specific moments, but God is the only one who can fill our void to be content with the blessings he has given each of us. Here are 9 bible verses to remind you how to remain content with your blessings.

“A heart at peace gives life to the body, but envy rots the bones.”

Proverbs‬ ‭14‬:‭30‬ ‭NIV‬‬

Be reminded that when we look at what others have we can become envious. God does not want us to view each other this way. So to remain content is to have peace in your heart.

Keep your lives free from the love of money and be content with what you have, because God has said, “Never will I leave you; never will I forsake you.”

Hebrews 13:5 NIV

God is the greatest thing any of us can have over money. He knows everything about us, so it is best for us to be grateful for the things we have.

“The fear of the Lord leads to life; then one rests content, untouched by trouble.”

‭‭Proverbs‬ ‭19‬:‭23‬ ‭NIV‬‬

We aren’t perfect and this the Lord knows, but our duty each day is to live like him, so that we can remain in good steps together.

“I am not saying this because I am in need, for I have learned to be content whatever the circumstances.”

‭‭Philippians‬ ‭4‬:‭11‬ ‭NIV‬‬

“If they obey and serve him, they will spend the rest of their days in prosperity and their years in contentment.”

‭‭Job‬ ‭36‬:‭11‬ ‭NIV‬‬

There is no way we can fully repay Jesus for what he has done for us, but we can obey and serve him.

“But godliness with contentment is great gain. For we brought nothing into the world, and we can take nothing out of it.”

‭‭1 Timothy‬ ‭6‬:‭6‬-‭7‬ ‭NIV‬‬

We must not become attached to earthly things, because we will always seek more and will not be satisfied. Let’s stop looking for replacements all of the time and be content with what we have.

“That is why, for Christ’s sake, I delight in weaknesses, in insults, in hardships, in persecutions, in difficulties. For when I am weak, then I am strong.”

‭‭2 Corinthians‬ ‭12‬:‭10‬ ‭NIV‬‬

Pray to the Lord and give your troubles. He will be your strength during your moment when you feel you don’t have enough.

“Blessed are those who hunger and thirst for righteousness, for they will be filled.”

‭‭Matthew‬ ‭5‬:‭6‬ ‭NIV‬‬

We must not forget that when we seek what others have, this is not righteous to God. Repent and seek new ways to do more righteous deeds.

“Better one handful with tranquillity than two handfuls with toil and chasing after the wind.”

‭‭Ecclesiastes‬ ‭4‬:‭6‬ ‭NIV‬‬

Sometimes we give ourselves more than we need to handle. This is not what God desires for us he wants us to have peace and to continuously come to him for anything we need.
